Lineage-Based Black American Freedmen Club for Californians and Our Families Across the Nation

Introduction

Welcome to BLACKAF.net—a dedicated club focused on the creation and maintenance of Black American Freedmen-owned businesses. We support Black American Freedmen Entrepreneurs and start-ups, building solidarity and resilience in California, even in the face of ongoing systemic injustice, racism, and discrimination. Through our comprehensive business directory and solidarity network, we are transforming into the resource-rich infrastructure we have always needed.

BLACKAF.net is committed to empowering and uniting the descendants of the institution of U.S. American Chattel Slavery living and working in California. As both a Business Directory and Solidarity Network, we provide an affinity space that fosters community, promotes economic empowerment, and advocates for the rights and needs of our members.

Our commitment extends to proactive advocacy work in anticipation of the establishment of the American Freedman's Bureau and the distribution of Reparations from the state of California. We strive to be a beacon of support, ensuring our community is informed, prepared, and positioned to benefit from forthcoming initiatives aimed at justice and equity.

Together, we are building a resilient and thriving community, honoring our heritage while forging a path towards a brighter, more inclusive future.

Vision Statement

At BLACKAF.net, we envision a thriving community where the Descendants of the Institution of American Chattel Slavery in California are empowered, prosperous, and united. Our goal is to create a comprehensive business directory and solidarity network that serves as a foundation for economic growth and community support.

We are committed to closing the wealth gap and developing robust infrastructure, ensuring that our children inherit a future filled with opportunity, equity, and success. By fostering collaboration and mutual aid, we aim to create a sustainable environment that honors our heritage and paves the way for generations to come.

BLACKAF.net was first established in the 831 area code to foster connection and solidarity among American Freedmen residing in Monterey County. However, as we organized locally, it became clear that the need for our network to expand across California—and even the nation—was essential. Now, every county has a chapter where individuals can access locally owned Black American Negro Freedmen businesses and connect with our community.
